David Perlick-Molinari

Founder, Chief Creative Officer, ECD/Composer/Producer/Sound Designer

Pronouns He/Him/His

YouTooCanWoo was born, believe it or not, all the way back in middle school, thanks to a piece of music inspired by a crush. Thank you, crush! The name itself became a kind of mantra; it served as a reminder to approach things from a place of positivity and abundance, rather than insecurity and fear.

David's approach to audio truly embodies the YouTooCanWoo energy. He has a strong kinship with all things sound at its core, and infuses his work with the kind of magic that only the Woo Factor can bring. From musical composition, production, and mix engineering to sound supervising, design, and strategy, David is a real audio auteur.

David's passion for music started at an early age, and he honed his skills by studying Music Theory and Composition at New York University. Since then, he has made a name for himself in the musical community, co-producing and mix engineering MGMT's debut EP, Time to Pretend. He also co-founded the musical group French Horn Rebellion with his brother, Robert, and toured the world with him - talk about sibling goals!

But David didn't stop there. His expertise includes countless work-to-picture collaborations, creating music that tells a bigger story in partnership with visuals. He has created the audio brand identities for some of the biggest brands in the world, including NBC, ABC, Peacock, Paramount+, MTV, and Spotify. He has worked on commercials for Apple, Google, and Nike, and his film work is simply incredible. He scored, did sound design, and ATMOS mixed the official SXSW Film Festival Selection, Geoff McFetridge: Drawing a Life, which was executive produced by Spike Jonze and won the coveted audience award. He also worked on The Last Year of Darkness, which premiered at CPH:DOX and won the special mention Next Wave Award. His immersive audio work includes audio design for major events like the MTV VMAs, NBCU Upfronts, and Apple’s partnership with MLB Friday Night Baseball.

But David isn't content to rest on his laurels. He continues to tour the world and work with established and emerging artists on our in-house label imprints. He's always pushing himself to do more, to be more, and to create more. And that's why we can't wait to see what he'll do next.
