Fellow Brooklyn label Neon Gold Records celebrate their 10 year anniversary this month - and a 10 year friendship with YouTooCanWoo. Blossoming in Brooklyn’s indie scene of the 2000s, French Horn Rebellion played their Pop Shop launch party and many others as well as their first Stars and Stripes Festival; Neon Gold presented Deidre & The Dark live with Alex Winston and countless nights with Savoir Adore and The Knocks; They also released Savoir Adore’s indie hit “Dreamers” in 2011 and we continue to enjoy many studio collaborations with Neon Gold artists.
We’re thrilled to have collaborated on their forthcoming 10th anniversary compilation, NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold, with David Perlick-Molinari mixing The Knocks’ “Make It Better - 2018 Mix” and Ryn Weaver’s “Reasons Not To Die” at YouTooCanWoo.
YouTooCanWoo artist, Deidre & The Dark releases their latest single, “One Night” ahead of a forthcoming debut album set to be released in early 2019. Heralded as a “gorgeous 60s retro revival” by Culture Collide (See premiere here), Deidre & The Dark’s newest release has, in just one week, climbed it’s way up to the Top 5 on Hype Machine with support and raving reviews from tastemakers and online outlets such as Impose Magazine, The Autumn Roses, Wonky Sensitive and more. “One Night” has also been added to Spotify’s official “Monday Spin” playlist.
Bathed in projections by Brian Bowman and surrounded by art, Derek Muro, David Perlick-Molinari and Zach Abramson performed excerpts from their score All For A Few Good Waves, weaving ambient soundscapes with haunting melodies and words spoken by legendary designer David Carson.
Now in its second year, the YouTooCanWoo gallery provides opportunities to showcase and engage with the amazing visual artistic talent in our creative community and create immersive experiences.
For the latest exhibition, Lea Wülferth curated photographs, paintings, illustrations, prints and projections from 10 artists inspired by the documentary David Carson: All For A Few Good Waves directed by Dan Covert and Andre Andreev and the musical score, by the beach, waves, and motion, and by the broader idea of all that we do for “a few good [insert what you care about].”
You can see a selection of the art and hear an excerpt from the performance here.
"At the Rubin Museum, the Future Has Arrived. And It's Fluid." - The New York Times
Both Buddhism and physics say that time is relative and less linear than we realize. The Rubin Museum’s current exhibition “THE SECOND BUDDHA: MASTER OF TIME” explores this concept and has at its centre an immersive animated video produced by Trollbäck & Company with original music, sound design and mix by YouTooCanWoo. Watch the video here or hear our work in person at the exhibition, which is now on view through January 2019.

Violet Sands pairs its ethereal sound with charting German nu-disco-electro-dance artist, Justin Faust on “What Do You Feel," the main single released by the pair this week. Reimagined by French producer/DJ Jean Tonique, his remix garnered the #1 spot on Hype Machine and got some radio love from LA's KCRW. Rounding out the single release, the Club Edit was featured on Spotify's Monday Spin playlist. Listen to all of them now!
The greatly anticipated blockbuster video game Just Cause 4 has just been announced at E3, the world's premiere trade show for computer and video games. We are very excited to share our involvement in the video game's music:
YouTooCanWoo composer Zach Abramson and team have spent the past year composing, recording, and mixing the massively epic score to the AAA video game at the YouTooCanWoo studio.
While still months away, we're all pumped for the game's release! In the meantime, check out the latest sneak preview of gameplay footage featuring our music.
The record is a sweeping emotional landscape mixed to be a listening journey toward an inner world of reflection and healing. Created from a combination of acoustic and electronic instrumentation, the music draws from lead composers Zach Abramson, Derek Muro and David Perlick-Molinari’s backgrounds in minimalism, classical and electronic music.
The album’s tracks were originally created as the score for the documentary David Carson: All For A Few Good Waves, directed by Andre Andreev and Dan Covert of Dress Code, offering a rare glimpse into the personal life of design legend David Carson. Listen here!
YouTooCanWoo releases this brand new collaboration from seminal French house artist Yuksek and ground-breaking musician/DJ/producer JD Samson of Le Tigre and MEN. "Don't Even Try" is an electro-jam that "...carries that fist-pump quality (both lyrically and sonically) that made late ’90s feminist punk so good while stomping its way onto the dance floor of the future. Perfectly mirroring the strengths of its co-creators..." - Culture Collide // Listen Here!
We are honored to announce that we’ve won awards in TWO categories from the 2018 Webby Awards! “I Heart NY” (Documentary: Individual Episode Shortform) and “Coke Habit” (Weird).
We worked on these two short films with Dress Code and couldn’t be prouder of them. Check out all the winners here!
“This track has been our secret weapon on the dance floor since we made its first version back in 2014,” says French Horn Rebellion’s Robert Perlick-Molinari. “In our French Horn Rebellion DJ Sets, it always brings the house down. After one such performance this past winter, we sat down together, and said ‘the time has come for the world to hear this hot disco fire.’ We asked Jody if she thought it was time, and she said ‘YES.'” Check out the premiere on Dancing Astronaut - and listen now.
